MANILA, Philippines — Six Chinese citizens were arrested for alleged possession of P6.8 million worth of shabu at the Subic Bay Freeport Zone in Olongapo City on Thursday.

Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency spokesman Derrick Carreon said a kilo of shabu was found during a search on the vehicle of Jiang Peng, Liu Quiao Zhi, Huang Du, Chen Pingxing, Xia Fayong and Fan Sheng Jan.

Carreon said the suspects were in a Nissan X-Trail when pulled over by Highway Patrol Group personnel at Tipo Gate around 7 p.m. because the vehicle has no validation sticker.

Meanwhile, Eric de la Cruz, alleged leader of a drug syndicate operating in Rizal, was arrested in Barangay Sta. Ana in Taytay on Friday.

Police said five sachets of shabu and marijuana, a. 45-caliber pistol, a 9mm, two hand grenades, assorted drug paraphernalia and P67,110 in cash were recovered from the suspects.
