BACOLOD CITY, Philippines — Three teenagers died and two others were injured when a multicab rammed a noodle house along the highway in Murcia, Negros Occidental on Sunday.

Police said the multicab driven by Emilio Salvador struck two other vehicles before it hit the victims who were sitting in front of the noodle house in Barangay Caliban.

Maj. Robert Dejucos, Murcia police chief, said Mark Lorence Guansing, 17, was declared dead on arrival in a hospital.

Dejucos said Shelmer Javier, 18, and Justin Maderada, 16, died on Monday while being treated in a hospital, where Carlo James Lopes, 23, and John Ryan Cruz, 17, remain confined.

Probers said Salvador could have fallen asleep when the accident occurred.
