3 comedians nabbed for quarantine breach
BAGUIO CITY, Philippines — Three movie comedians were arrested for allegedly violating quarantine protocols in Sto. Domingo, Ilocos Sur on Saturday.
Ilocos Sur Gov. Ryan Singson wants Long Mejia, Dagul and Gene Padilla – or Roberto Mejia, Rony Pastrana and Gene Baldivia, respectively, in real life – declared
Mejia’s group reportedly arrived in the province without properly coordinating with the local government.
The group had no legitimate purpose in the province and refused to undergo quarantine checkpoint protocols, Singson said.
Being movie actors with public patronage, Singson said the three should be responsible enough in complying with the existing rules of any place they visit.
Reports said the three came from Abra and decided to have dinner at a friend’s house in Sto. Domingo, according to Christopher Ramat, town police chief.
After leaving Sto. Domingo, the group was intercepted in nearby Tagudin town for failing to show travel authority and health clearance.
They were taken to the police station where their mugshots were taken, according to Lt. Rovic Nelmada, Tagudin police deputy chief. – Raymund Catindig
