2 slain in North Cotabato shooting

NORTH COTABATO, Philippines — Two persons were killed and another was wounded in a gun attack in Midsayap on Wednesday.

Paitin Lando, 53, and Noron Mulod, 18, died at the scene, Lt. Col. John Miridel Calinga, town police chief, said.

Sueb Kalambi, 21, was wounded and taken to a hospital for treatment.

The victims were on separate motorcycles when they were attacked in Barangay Nabalawag. The gunmen escaped toward a rice field.

Probers said the attack could be related to a rido or clan war.
