MANILA, Philippines — A possible summary execution victim, whose body was chopped into pieces, was found in Binondo, Manila on Saturday.
Bheng Montilla told police investigators that she was looking for scrap in Barangay 275, Parola Compound when she noticed a severed right arm at around 6 a.m.
According to Capt. Henry Navarro, chief of the Manila Police District homicide unit, the victim was tortured since several fingernails were removed.
A few hours later, Navarro said two fishermen discovered a left arm and a torso near the breakwaters, but there were no distinguishing marks on the human body parts.
Probers said it was possible that the limbs belong to a woman.
Navarro said the chopped body parts were taken to the crime laboratory for examination and DNA test.
Police said they are conducting follow-up investigation for possible identification of the victim.
