MANILA, Philippines — A supervisor of a merchant wholesaler who was riding a bicycle to work was injured after he was hit by a motorcycle rider in Quezon City yesterday.
Eric Malana, a supervisor at Absolute Sales Corp., was traversing Commonwealth Avenue at past 8 a.m. when he reportedly changed lanes and was hit by a motorcycle driven by Deejay Chavez.
Malana sustained injuries on the head and hip when he fell to the ground. Rescuers brought him to a hospital for medical treatment.
Authorities took Chavez into custody for investigation.
The Quezon City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office urged motorists to be cautious on the road.
People are using other means of transportation such as bicycles as only a limited number of public utility vehicles are allowed in Metro Manila, which shifted to general community quarantine.
