21 Pangasinan village chiefs quarantined
CALASIAO, Pangasinan, Philippines – At least 21 barangay captains in this town are on self-quarantine after one of them was found positive for coronavirus disease 2019 or COVID-19 during mass testing held at the town hall on Thursday.
“For the safety of all, I have ordered a 14-day home quarantine of barangay captains who attended the meeting and those with whom they had close contact,” Calasiao Mayor Joseph Arman Bauzon said.
Bauzon said the barangay captain was placed in an isolation facility and would undergo swab test for confirmation.
Councilor Mamilyn Caramat, Liga ng Barangay president, said two staff members of the municipal local government operations office, the town police chief and other local government employees present during the mass meeting were also told to go on home quarantine.
