Cagayan councilor tagged in murder yields guns, ammo

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan, Philippines — Three guns and various types of ammunition have been reportedly seized from the residence of a councilor accused of killing four persons in Amulung, Cagayan on Wednesday.

Col. Ariel Quilang said a caliber 5.56 rifle and two shotguns were recovered during a raid on the house of Joey Bragado, 50, in Barangay Pacac Grande on Friday.

Four counts of murder were filed against Bragado and his aide Jojo Vergara in connection with the killing of Christian Kaibigan and Joel Bolado, both residents of Lipa City, and Michael Eugine Romero and Rommuel Quianan of Quezon City.

The bullet-riddled bodies of the victims were found in an abandoned car in a cemetery in Piat town.

Probers are eyeing double cross in the sale of pawned and carjacked vehicles as the motive for the killing.
