Woman dies trying to save dogs from burning house

BACOLOD CITY, Philippines — A woman died while trying to save her dogs when her house caught fire on Wednesday.

City fire marshal Chief Inspector Publio Ploteña said Michelle Grace Mirasol, 36, was found dead in the bathroom of her house at Capitol Heights Subdivision in Barangay Villamonte in this city.

Mirasol had reportedly rescued three of her nine shih tzus when she was trapped in the burning house.

Initial investigation showed the fire, which broke out at the residence of the victim, was declared out after 30 minutes.
