TUGUEGARAO, Philippines — Authorities yesterday recovered the body of a barangay captain who drowned during the onslaught of Typhoon Ambo in Cauayan City, Isabela.

Herman Managuelod, 75, of Barangay Rancho Bassit, Angadanan town, was found floating in a river in Barangay Villa Luna, Cauayan City at around 8:30 a.m., according to Capt. Clarence Labasan, spokesman for the Isabela police.

Managuelod was reported missing by his family after he failed to return home from a fishing expedition on May 16.

Meanwhile, authorities have yet to find Robin Angoluan, 44, and Rex Fernandez, 20, who were reportedly carried away by the current in Cauayan and Echague, respectively, over the weekend.
