MANILA, Philippines — Applications for medical assistance in Metro Manila can only be done online starting tomorrow, the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) said on Friday.

Royina Garma, PCSO vice chairperson and general manager, said the move is being implemented to prevent applicants from having to line up at the PCSO head office in Mandaluyong City during the enhanced community quarantine.

“Effective Monday, May 11, 2020, filing and processing of requests for medical assistance for confinement, chemotherapy, dialysis, hemophilia and post-transplant medicines for NCR patients shall be done through online application only,” the PCSO announced in Public Advisory No. 7, referring to the National Capital Region.

The advisory said applicants should log on to the PCSO’s website http://www.pcso.gov.ph, proceed to E-services and click the NCR Online Application.

The PCSO was reported to have a P2 million daily allocation for medical assistance just for Metro Manila.

The PCSO resumed its medical assistance program on April 15 after it was suspended when a state of public health emergency was declared in the country due to the coronavirus disease 2019.
