CAGAYAN DE ORO, Philippines — Cagayan de Oro City’s testing laboratory for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) will be operational within two weeks.
Mayor Oscar Moreno said the laboratory would be equipped with two Polymerase Chain Reaction machines, considered the gold standard in COVID-19 testing. The city government procured the machines with assistance from the Department of Health.
Moreno said CDO’s testing center would also benefit residents of Caraga and Zamboanga peninsula.
“We have a good handle of the situation, but we need to intensify and do some more,” he said even as he stressed the need for people to stay home, wash their hands, wear face masks and observe physical distancing.
