4 nabbed for quarantine breach

MANILA, Philippines — A Chinese and three Filipinos were arrested for violating quarantine rules in Silang, Cavite yesterday.

Steven Chan, 26; Herson Rioveros, 28; Alvin Dales, 37, and Junide Lerio, 19, were reportedly caught having a drinking spree in Barangay Maguyam.

Police said the suspects were arrested by barangay officials, who conducted patrol at past midnight.

The violators were brought to the police station, but were returned to the barangay hall for being first-time offenders.

They were released after paying a fine of P2,000 each.

Aside from the fine, they were ordered to render community service as part of their punishment.
