Enough supply of TB drugs — DOH

MANILA, Philippines — Health centers across the country have sufficient supply of anti-tuberculosis (TB) drugs amid the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.
Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire advised TB patients to request for their supply of medicine for one month.
Vergeire said TB patients should avoid frequenting health centers, noting that they are among those at risk for COVID-19.
The Department of Health (DOH) said TB patients require medication for six to nine months.
“To protect our health workers and TB patients from COVID-19 infection, we will enforce a home-based strategy in which a family member will support the patient in taking his or her medicine,” Health Secretary Francisco Duque III had earlier said.
Meanwhile, the DOH advised those going to health centers for immunization to wear face mask and practice physical distancing. Children under five years can be vaccinated against measles from Monday to Friday.
