PNP exec slain in gun attack
SULTAN KUDARAT , Philippines – A police official was gunned down in Isulan town on Wednesday.
Maj. Victorino Pansoy, chief of the Internal Affairs Service (IAS) of the Davao del Sur police, suffered multiple gunshot wounds. He died at the scene.
Initial investigation showed Pansoy, his partner and daughter had just entered their Toyota Hilux parked near their house in Barangay Sampao when the assailant approached and opened fire.
Col. Modesto Carrera, Isulan police chief, said a bullet grazed the head of Pansoy’s daughter. She is now in stable condition in a hospital.
Probers said the killing could be work-related, noting that as IAS head, Pansoy had filed charges against his colleagues. The victim was also former head of the IAS of the Maguindanao and Sultan Kudarat police.
