4 nabbed in drug stings

MANILA, Philippines — Police have arrested four drug suspects during separate stings in Taguig, Las Piñas and Parañaque amid the enhanced community quarantine.

Rodolfo Jorge, 42; Aerom Arevalo, 24, and Aries Camalla, 32, were taken into police custody.

Probers said a fourth suspect, a 16-year-old boy, was turned over to the Department of Social Welfare and Development.

An estimated 50,000 worth of shabu, drug paraphernalia and the marked money were confiscated during the operations.

The suspects are being held by police on charges of violating Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.

Police said a separate case of illegal possession of firearms and ammunition would be filed against Arevalo after he yielded a loaded .38-caliber handgun.
