23 detainees bolt Cavite jail

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines — Authorities have launched a manhunt for six of 23 inmates who escaped from their detention cell in General Mariano Alvarez, Cavite yesterday.

The jailbreak occurred at around 4 a.m. at the municipal police detention jail in Barangay Poblacion I.

Twelve of the fugitives were recaptured in follow-up operations in nearby barangays.

Investigation is ongoing.

Meanwhile in Bulacan, two inmates bolted the provincial jail on Monday night.

Aris Cammayo and Jeffrey Cervando reportedly sawed the iron grills at their cell, according to provincial jail warden Col. Marcos Rivero.
