P5.2 million cocaine seized in Quezon

REAL, Quezon, Philippines —  At least 990 grams of cocaine worth P5.2 million were seized in a sting in Purok Gumamela, Barangay Poblacion Uno in this town on Wednesday. 

Lt. Rolly Dahug, town police chief, said John Paul Astoveza, 22, and Mark Aljon Buendicho, 26, both residents of Barangay Minahan Norte, General Nakar were arrested. 

 Meanwhile, Lt. Col. Jesreel Calderon of the Candelaria police; S/Sgts. Alvin Dimaranan and Samuel Merluza, and Pat. John Paul Faulmani of its drug enforcement unit were relieved from their post for alleged kidnapping and extortion of drug offenders.

Four civilian assets of the police officers were arrested.
