MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) started repairs last night on sections of EDSA and other roads in Quezon City.

The road rehabilitation will last until 5 a.m. on Monday, DPWH-National Capital Region director Ador Canlas said.

Road reblocking will be conducted on segments of EDSA’s southbound lanes from Balintawak to Dario Bridge, first lane from center island and from Approach B of the P. Tuazon flyover to Approach A of the Boni Serrano flyover, beside the sidewalk.

The DPWH will also repair a segment of EDSA’s third northbound lane from the sidewalk from Aurora Boulevard to New York street.

The DPWH would also fix a portion of A. Bonifacio Avenue’s southbound lane from Sgt. Rivera to Bansalangin streets.

Parts of the westbound lanes of the following roads would also be under repair: Gen. Luis street, near SB Road; Congressional Avenue Extension, near UP Professors Subdivision; and Elliptical Road from Kalayaan Avenue to Maharlika street.

The northbound lane of Mindanao Avenue, from Tandang Sora to D. Muñoz street, would also be repaired.

The DPWH advised motorists to take alternate routes to avoid these areas. Due to expected temporary traffic slowdown in affected areas, motorists are advised to take possible alternate routes.
