BOCAUE, Bulacan, Philippines —– The North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) will open another interchange in this town today.
Kit Ventura, NLEX assistant vice president for corporate communications, said the Tambubong interchange would be opened to motorists at around 6 a.m.
It is the third interchange in Bocaue aside from those along Gov. Halili Avenue and the Philippine Arena.
The Tambubong interchange is seen to decongest traffic along Gov. Halili Avenue by serving as an alternate route from those coming from Sta. Maria, Angat and Pandi.
The interchange has two 290-meter lanes at the southbound entry, two 180-meter lanes northbound and a three-lane, 240-meter northbound exit.
“With these new access roads, we expect to enhance mobility within the Bulacan road network and help alleviate heavy traffic at the Bocaue interchange,” NLEX Corp. president and general manager J. Luigi Bautista said.
“Through the years, vehicles coming from and bound for the towns of Bocaue and Sta. Maria have grown due to booming industries and heightened economic activities. The new interchange is expected to reduce travel time and complement other developments in Bulacan,” Roseller Tolentino, director of the Department of Public Works-Central Luzon office said.
