24 nabbed for illegal fishing off Bulacan

MALOLOS , Philippines — Twenty-four fishermen were arrested for illegal fishing off the coast of Paombong, Bulacan yesterday. 

Col. Lawrence Cajipe, acting Bulacan police director, said the fishermen were using a motorized push net, locally known as sudsod, off Barangay Sta. Cruz at around 5:40 a.m.

Cajipe said members of the Municipal Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Management Council and Bantay Dagat as well as the Paombong police confiscated the illegally caught fish, three boats and motorized push nets from the suspects
