Eva Visperas - The Philippine Star

ROSALES, Pangasinan, Philippines — A bank teller died after he was trapped in an armored van that caught fire when it collided with a delivery truck along the Tarlac-Pangasinan-La Union Expressway (TPLEX) in Cuyapo, Nueva Ecija on Tuesday.

The fatality was identified as Den Chauli Leyson of United Coconut Planters Bank (UCPB)-Manila branch.

Three other van passengers, two of them security escorts, were injured and brought to the Loving Mother General Hospital for treatment.

Initial investigation showed the accident occurred when the armored van driven by Virgilio Boladi made a full stop due to zero visibility caused by a grassfire.

The van fell on an embankment of TPLEX with grassfire.

The armored van came from UCPB branches in the cities of Dagupan and Urdaneta and was on its way to Manila.
