Boy, 15, shot dead by cop
MANILA, Philippines — A 15-year-old boy, who allegedly started a brawl, was shot dead by a police officer in Dasmarinas, Cavite on Saturday afternoon.
Darwin Pintang and his two companions reportedly confronted a group of teenagers in Barangay Paliparan 3 at around 5 p.m.
S/Sgt. Elmer Belaro of the police regional intelligence division, who was playing in a nearby basketball court, tried to pacify the warring groups.
Instead of heeding, Pintang allegedly shot but missed Belaro with a .22 caliber pistol. This prompted the officer to fire back, killing the boy at the scene.
Probers said they recovered five plastic sachets containing shabu and the pistol from Pintang.
One of Pintang’s companion, identified as Lloyd Brix Andre Cutsero, was arrested in a follow-up operation.
An improvised shotgun was seized from Cutsero.
Meanwhile, in Candelaria, Quezon, two police assets were shot dead by a lone assailants.
Lorily Mapoy and an alias Paye were walking in Barangay Malabanban Sur at around 8:30 p.m.when they were killed.
