PNP keeping tabs on Trillanes; Bikoy posts bail

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police (PNP) is keeping tabs on former senator Antonio Trillanes IV, who is facing a sedition case in connection with an alleged plot to oust President Duterte.

Trillanes is among 11 individuals ordered arrested by a Quezon City court on charges of conspiracy to commit sedition.

Six of the respondents have posted bail, including Peter Joemel Advincula, who claimed to be Bikoy in the “Ang totoong narco list” videos, which linked President Duterte’s family to the illegal drug trade.

Advincula posted P10,000 bail for his provisional liberty.

PNP chief Gen. Archie Francisco Gamboa said they are keeping a close watch on Trillanes to ensure that he will face the charges against him.

“We will continue to monitor his movements and serve the warrant for his arrest,” Gamboa said.

Policemen tried to serve a warrant for Trillanes’ arrest at his house in Antipolo City, but they were told that he is out of the country.

Trillanes earlier said he would post bail when he returns to the country.

“We are hopeful that he will keep his word to face the charges and cooperate with authorities,” Gamboa said.
