Barangay execs can apply for civil service eligibility – CSC
MANILA, Philippines — Barangay officials and health workers can apply for civil service eligibility for their career advancement.
“Select barangay officials, health workers and nutrition scholars may be granted career service eligibilities appropriate for the first level position in government,” the Civil Service Commission (CSC) said yesterday.
Barangay Official Eligibility (BOE) can be granted to those who have finished their term on or after Aug. 1, 2012, the commission said.
Those who held positions of barangay captain or member of the Sangguniang Barangay as well as chairman of the Sangguniang Kabataan are encouraged to apply.
The BOE is also open to appointive positions, such as barangay treasurer and secretary.
Accredited barangay health workers (BHWs) with at least two years of college education could also avail themselves of the civil service eligibility.
The CSC said the applicant should have rendered at least five years of voluntary continuous active and satisfactory service.
BHWs hired by agencies under a job order status or contract of service may apply for the eligibility.
The eligibility is also open to barangay nutrition scholars who have rendered at least two years of continuous and satisfactory services and other related activities.
Interested barangay workers may file their application at the CSC regional or field office nearest to their place of residence or work.
