TARLAC, Philippines — Seventy-three reservists of the Philippine Army, including two celebrities, finished a two-day training on mechanized infantry operations in Capas, Tarlac yesterday.
Among those who completed the training are singer-actor Ronnie Liang and 2018 Miss Earth-Air Philippines Zahra Bianca Saldua. The two have the ranks of second lieutenant.
Col. Anthon Abrina, Armor (Pambato) Division chief, welcomed the reservists during the traditional reception rites held at Camp O’Donnell on Wednesday.
Division school commandant Lt. Col. Ferdinand de la Cruz presented the 73 reservists to assistant division commander Brig. Gen. Ezra James Enriquez during the reception rites.
“The program that we prepared for you will help you learn the basics, the peculiarity of our unit’s mission and how to lead your troops, but most importantly to push yourself beyond your limits while maintaining your composure as Army officers,” Enriquez said.
The Army said the training directorate headed by Maj. Reynaldo Valencia supervised the activity.
The training aims to educate newly assigned officers and enlisted personnel on the Armor Division and other Army units.
The Army said it would provide trainees the basic foundation to become members of the division and provide basic knowledge and skills on infantry operations.
