P.5 million shabu seized in stings
MANILA, Philippines — Over P500,000 worth of shabu was confiscated during a series of anti-narcotics operations in Quezon City over the weekend.
Police arrested three suspected drug pushers in front of a mall along EDSA in Barangay Sto. Cristo.
They were siblings Mariam, 19, and Jalil Magondcan, 25, and Kair Pagul.
The suspects allegedly sold shabu for P47,500 to a policeman who posed as a buyer.
Police said they recovered from the suspects 50 more grams of shabu worth around P340,000, a sport utility vehicle and the marked money.
Anti-drug agents apprehended Jefferson de Leon, 34, Jonathan Mendoza, 18, and Jason Atordido, 29, in Barangay Unang Sigaw.
The suspects, who were on the drug watchlist, allegedly yielded P102,000 worth of shabu.
In Barangay Bahay Toro, eight persons were nabbed during a raid on a suspected drug den.
Siblings Luisito, Vicente and Christopher Cardiel were arrested along with Marvin Pergis, 43; Patrick Aquino, 22; Rodrigo de las Alas; Robert dela Cruz, 37; and Susan Itioses, 43.
Police said they confiscated at least 12 grams of shabu during the operation.
Eight other drug suspects were collared in separate stings in Quezon City.
In Marikina, over P600,000 worth of drugs were seized from six suspects.
One of the suspects was Benjie Rebuya, 25, who had been under police surveillance for alleged drug pushing.
