Bataan, Aurora declared drug-free
MANILA, Philippines — Bataan and Aurora have been added to the list of drug-free provinces.
Bataan Gov. Albert Garcia and acting Aurora Gov. Christian Noveras received the plaques certifying the drug-free status of their provinces from Director Lyndon Aspacio of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Central Luzon office at the Bataan People’s Center in Balanga City on Saturday.
Undersecretary Martin Diño of the Department of the Interior and Local Government and Lt. Gen. Guillermo Eleazar, Philippine National Police deputy chief for operations, attended the ceremony.
Brig. Gen. Rhodel Sermonia, Central Luzon police director, said Zambales is expected to be declared drug-free by next month, adding that he was hoping Nueva Ecija would be next.
3 slain, P10.8 million shabu seized
Meanwhile, in Bulacan, Jay-Ar Borromeo and his alleged cohorts identified only by their aliases of Liit and Junior were killed in a drug sting in Barangay San Manuel, San Jose del Monte City yesterday.
Police said 926 grams of shabu with an estimated street value of P1.1 million were recovered from Lalaine Ereno, 56, in Barangay Calaparan in Iloilo City yesterday.
In Pavia town in Iloilo, Jennifer Nosotros and her son John Rey were arrested in Barangay Ungka 2 on Sunday. They reportedly yielded P6.3 million worth of shabu.
Police said Marlon Abueva and Anacleto Aquino yielded P3 million worth of shabu in Sta. Elena, Camarines Norte.
