CAVITE, Philippines — A drug suspect was killed in an alleged shootout with police officers in a sting in Imus, Cavite on Tuesday.
Police said Roberto Fernandez fired at anti-narcotics agents in Barangay Alapan IC.
A caliber .45 pistol and a sachet of shabu were recovered from the fatality.
In Marawi City, authorities said P6.8 million worth of shabu was seized from Manumbilao Tocalo and Muhajir Usman Samad, who were arrested in a sting at a commercial center in the premises of the Mindanao State University yesterday.
Director Juvenal Azurin of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao said the operation was initiated by personnel of the 103rd Brigade and 82nd Infantry Battalion as well as the Lanao del Sur, Marawi and BARMM police.
