Zamboanga del Norte town councilor, partner held for guns, drugs

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines — A town councilor and his partner were arrested for illegal possession of guns, ammunition and drugs during a raid on their house in Zamboanga del Norte on Tuesday. 

Arnold Dagodog, 44, councilor of Gutalac town, and his partner Irene Lapinig, 40, were apprehended in Barangay San Vicente, Maj. Helen Galvez, Zamboanga peninsula police spokesperson, said yesterday.

Galvez said eight sachets of shabu with an estimated street value of P60,000, a 9mm pistol, a caliber .45 pistol, a caliber .380 and several rounds of ammunition were recovered from the suspects.  

She said Dagodog and Lapinig were ranked second on the drug watchlist in the area.
