4 nabbed over P9 million shabu
BACOLOD, Philippines — Policemen seized over P9 million worth of shabu and arrested four suspects during drug busts on Saturday.
At Bangga Subay in Barangay Banago, Bacolod City, police arrested Sunny Capa, considered a high-value target, and Ely Lorence Sazon in a sting at around 8 p.m.
Lt. Col. Joem Javier, Central Visayas police spokesman, said around 610 grams of shabu with an estimated street value of P9.15 million were confiscated from the suspects.
In Tuguegarao City in Cagayan, medical representatives Michael Go and Louigie Taguibao were caught in a sting at the back of a shopping mall along Blumentrit street.
City police chief Lt. Col. George Cablarda said Taguibao, whose name is on their drug watchlist, is allegedly connected to a drug group operating in Cagayan and Isabela.
In Ilocos Norte, Arwin Cristobal – who, police say, is included in the drugs watchlist of authorities – was shot and seriously wounded at around 3 p.m. by a motorcycle riding gunman in front of a bar in Barangay 3 in Laoag City.
Police said Cristobal was with his brother Jaspher sitting in front of the establishment when one of two men aboard a motorcycle opened fired at him.
Cristobal was taken to the Mariano Marcos Memorial Hospital and Medical Center in Batac City and is in serious condition, police added. Investigators have yet to determine the motive for the attack.
Meanwhile, unresolved drug-related killings in Negros Occidental had Bacolod Bishop Patricio Buzon rallying Negrenses to pray and recite the “Oratio Imperata” to end violence, which, he stressed, never brings real progress and sustainable development.
