SARANGANI, Philippines — A magnitude 4.3 aftershock hit Sarangani yesterday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
The quake occurred at 5:26 a.m. and was centered 15 kilometers northwest of Malungon, Sarangani.
It was felt at Intensity 3 in Digos City and Intensity 2 in Davao City, General Santos City, Koronadal City and Tampakan, South Cotabato.
Phivolcs’ instruments, however, recorded the tremor at Intensity 5 in Malungon, Intensity 4 in Tupi, Intensity 3 in Koronadal City; Alabel, Sarangani; and Kidapawan City and Intensity 2 in Davao City, General Santos City and Kiamba, Sarangani.
Another quake, a magnitude 4.4, struck three kilometers northeast of Kiblawan, Davao del Sur at 11:23 a.m. It was felt at Intensity 3 in Digos City, Kidapawan City and Davao City.
A magnitude 3.6 temblor also hit five kilometers southwest of Kiblawan at 3:39 p.m. It was felt at Intensity 3 in Digos City.
As of 7 a.m. yesterday, a total of 1,060 aftershocks were recorded from the magnitude 6.9 quake in Davao del Sur on Dec. 15. The temblor left 11 people dead.
