3 dead in Isabela road mishaps

TUGUEGARAO, Cagayan, Pgilippines  – Three persons died in road accidents in Isabela yesterday.

Police said Louie Gandeza was driving his motorcycle when it crashed into a van along the highway in Barangay Mambog, Sta. Cruz at around 4:40 a.m.

Gandeza was pronounced dead on arrival in a hospital. The van driver, Manuel Bullayao Jr., 71, was arrested.

In Ilagan City, Mely Almazan died when her motorcycle was hit by another motorbike driven by Pvt. Mark Bungcag in Barangay Rugao. Bungcag was injured and brought to a hospital for treatment.

The tricycle driven by market vendor Jeffrey Lapay, 49, was hit by a Ford Ranger in Barangay District 2, Cauayan City at around 1:10 a.m. Lapay died on the way to a hospital. The driver of the pickup, Jerico Isidro, was apprehended.
