MANILA, Philippines — Manila Mayor Isko Moreno yesterday announced the suspension of classes in three city schools for the 30th Southeast Asian (SEA) Games.
Classes at the Aurora Quezon Elementary School are suspended starting today until Friday.
There will be no classes from Dec. 2 to 7 at the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila and Universidad de Manila.
Public information office chief Julius Leonen said the suspension of classes was in anticipation of traffic jams that would be caused by the event.
The Southeast Asian Games Organizing Committee has urged local chief executives in areas hosting the SEA Games to suspend classes.
