Australian man held at Cebu airport for gun, ammo

MANILA, Philippines — An Australian citizen bound for Manila was arrested at the Mactan Cebu International Airport on Monday for illegal possession of a gun and ammunition.

Stanley Wayne’s trolley yielded a .38-caliber revolver and 10 bullets, Office of Transportation Security x-ray operator Sheena Mae Doydoy and baggage inspector Michael Mendoza said.

Wayne was turned over to the Philippine National Police aviation security unit after he failed to present the necessary documents.
