MANILA, Philippines — Police rescued eight victims of sexual exploitation in separate operations in Mandaluyong and Las Piñas over the weekend.
Brig. Gen. William Macavinta, director of the police Women and Children Protection Group, said authorities raided an apartment in Barangay Highway Hills after receiving information that a group was offering women for sex to rich people for P5,000.
“You can have another round with a woman if you pay P8,000,” Macavinta said in a text message.
Six persons, including two minors, were rescued during the raid.
Three suspects were nabbed during an entrapment operation where a policeman posed as a client.
They were Raymond Rae Gencianos, 24; Maria Cindy Galicia, 29, and Glen Dave Ty, 20.
A follow-up operation at the Rivera apartelle in Barangay Pamplona Uno, Las Pinas City led to the rescue of two other girls.
Police said charges of violation of Republic Act 10364 or the Expanded Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act would be filed against the suspects.
