Safety officer figures in crash; 1 dead

MANILA, Philippines — An officer of the Makati Public Safety Department figured in a vehicular collision yesterday morning that left a motorcycle rider dead.

The rear of Crisostomo Ocampo’s government-issued Hyundai van hit the front part of a motorcycle driven by Jessie Obsina at the intersection of Tordesillas and Malugay streets.

Obsina died while being treated at the Makati Medical Center at around 6 p.m.

Ocampo was charged with reckless imprudence resulting in homicide.
