Girl, 4, rescued from alleged abductor

MANILA, Philippines — A four-year-old girl was rescued by police from her alleged abductor in Barangay Baclaran, Parañaque City on Sunday night.

Suspect Marian Verano, 45, of Masbate City, was taken into police custody.

A police report said the girl was playing outside their house along L.T. Garcia Extension when Verano approached her.

Probers said the suspect was about to grab the girl when her aunt saw the commotion.

She immediately called the girl’s father, who sought police help.
