PNP to process firecracker licenses, permits
BOCAUE, Bulacan, Philippines — The Philippine National Police Firearms and Explosives Office (FEO) will process applications for the manufacture and sale of firecrackers and pyrotechnic devices starting next week.
Lea Alapide, president of the Philippine Pyrotechnics Manufacturers and Dealers Association Inc., quoted FEO chief Brig. Gen. Valeriano de Leon as saying that pyrotechnics retailers could apply for permits only until Nov. 30.
The list of approved applications will be released on Dec. 15.
Bocaue Mayor Eleanor Villanueva-Tugna conducted a fireworks stakeholders meeting to ensure that industry players comply with safety measures in their work place.
The local government also provided trainings on risk reduction and management for fireworks industry stakeholders.
