MANILA, Philippines — In a bid to minimize problems with traffic enforcers, the Pasig City government equipped 190 traffic enforcers with body cameras, Mayor Vico Sotto said yesterday.
“Blue boys that are corrupt? Rude? Resting while the traffic in intersections are tied? Our deployment of 190 traffic enforcers with body cams should help us minimize this,” he said in a Facebook post.
Sotto said the enforcers are also undergoing retraining and charges will be filed against erring enforcers.
“I assured (the traffic enforcers) that if they are doing the right thing, I will protect them. So, they do not need to be afraid even if (those they apprehend) show them their calling card,” he said.
