Cagayan vice mayor’s aide held for guns, ammo

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan, Philippines — An aide of a vice mayor in Enrile town in this province was arrested for illegal possession of firearms and ammunition on Thursday.

Reynaldo Malicad, 48, is the “private security guard“ of Vice Mayor Expedito Taguibao, Maj. Lorvinn Layugan, Enrile police chief, said.

Layugan said Malicad yielded a caliber .45 pistol, a holster and ammunition during a raid on his house in Barangay Inga.

The raid was based on a search warrant issued by Solana-Enrile Municipal Circuit Trial Court Presiding Judge Jesusa Carag.
