MANILA, Philippines — Former actress Deborah Sun and her daughter were arrested for illegal drugs at a condominium in Quezon City on Sunday.
Sun, real name Jean Louise Salvador, and her daughter Angela were allegedly caught with P6,800 worth of methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu when police officers staged a sting targeting Angela’s alleged partner, Gerald de Guzman, 53, and his companion, Gonzalo Gonzales, at the condominium unit at around 8:30 a.m.
Project 8 police station commander Lt. Col. Jeffrey Bilaro said Angela tried to elude arrest by fleeing to another unit but she was blocked by the unit’s owner, an employee of the Bureau of Fire Protection.
Salvador is a sister of actor Phillip Salvador.
Meanwhile, Ronalyn Santos, 35, was stabbed dead in Quezon City on Sunday night as she was reportedly meeting with other members of a drug gang to determine who would be its leader.
Santos died in front of the Philippine Science High School along Agham Road in Barangay Pag-asa.
A witness told police he saw Santos running from an alley and collapse on the pavement, bleeding.
Masambong police station commander Lt. Col. Rodrigo Soriano said Santos’ name was on the drug watchlist.
The gang was supposedly headed by Gilber Marbella, 39, who was killed by police in an alleged shootout last week.
Persons of interest have been identified but witnesses are scared to testify, Soriano said.
