ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines — An explosion damaged a house in a village in this city yesterday.
No one was wounded or killed in the blast that occurred at past 1 a.m. in Barangay Putik, according to Capt. Edwin Duco, acting spokesman for the Zamboanga City police.
Eliza Estipona, 48, whose house was destroyed in the explosion, told police that she and her daughter were roused from their sleep.
Responding police personnel recovered metal fragments believed to be parts of a fragmentation grenade.
