Barangay captain slain in Manila

MANILA, Philippines — A barangay captain was shot dead just outside the barangay hall in Sta. Cruz, Manila Friday night.

Aileen Guidotong, 47, was talking with her secretary at the Barangay 314 hall’s garage about a planned clearing operation when a masked man shot her.

The victim was brought to the Metropolitan Medical Center but died hours later.

Police are still investigating the motive for the attack, according to Manila Police District Station 3 commander Lt. Col. Julius Domingo.
