MANILA, Philippines — The southwest monsoon, or habagat, will continue affecting the whole country Saturday, drenching most parts of Luzon and may trigger landslides, the state weather bureau said.

In a 4 a.m. advisory, state weather forecasters said monsoon rains will prevail over Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, CALABARZON, Central Luzon, Batanes, and Babuyan Group of Islands.

Residents in these areas were advised to prepare for possible flash floods or landslides due light to moderate with at times heavy rains.

Meanwhile, the rest of Luzon may experience cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms, which may also set off landslides.

The Visayas and Mindanao region may see partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers and thunderstorms due to habagat. Residents were told to prepare for possible flash floods or landslide during severe thunderstorms.
