Ex-Iligan mayor’s wife found dead

ILIGAN CITY, Philippines — Authorities have confirmed that the body of a woman recovered in Mandulog River on June 29 is the missing wife of former Iligan mayor Franklin Quijano.

Quijano’s brother Roberto said the dental record of Salma Therese matched the dentures on the body.

A DNA test was also conducted, the results of which is expected to be released next week.

Salma went missing on June 27. Her family members sought police assistance only on July 2.
