Actor’s ex-wife ?nabbed for estafa

MANILA, Philippines — Police have arrested a businesswoman and a former wife of actor Philip Salvador for alleged estafa in Parañaque City.

Cristina Decena, of Le Triomphe Condominium in Makati, was nabbed by personnel of the Manila Police District warrant section led by Lt. Glenzor Vallejo on Monday.

Vallejo said Decena was collared inside the Parañaque police station based on a warrant issued by Manila Regional Trial Court Branch 27 Judge Teresa Soriaso for estafa.

The arrest stemmed from a complaint of Gloria del Prado who alleged that Decena defrauded her of at least P3.5 million.

Del Prado said Decena enticed her to invest P10 million in a condominium building in Makati and a solar plant project in San Miguel, Bulacan.

The complainant said Decena promised her 1.3 percent monthly interest from the investment.

Probers said Decena initially gave Del Prado a portion of the money. But failed to pay the victim P3.5 million, prompting her to seek police help.

Decena was released by police after posting bail on Wednesday afternoon.
