2 fugitive Pakistanis nabbed in Zamboanga
ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines — Immigration and intelligence units from the police and military arrested two Pakistanis at a hotel in this city on Monday.
Brig. Gen. Froilan Quidilla, Zamboanga peninsula police chief, said Sajid Ali, 28, and Rahim Zada, 42, entered the country illegally and were among those being pursued based on an order of Immigration Commissioner Jaime Morente.
Quidilla did not say if the two Pakistanis have links with foreign militants.
Authorities tightened security in Mindanao following a suicide bombing at a military camp in Indanan, Sulu on June 28 that left five persons dead and 22 others wounded.
