MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is planning to open the Plaza Dilao ramp section of the Metro Manila Skyway Stage 3 within this month, an official said yesterday.
DPWH Secretary Mark Villar inspected the progress of the construction of the Skyway Stage 3 yesterday morning.
The opening of the Plaza Dilao exit means the Skyway gets an additional four kilometers, Villar said in a television interview.
In a statement, he said work on the project is “in full swing” and their target is to have the Skyway completed by the first quarter of 2020.
The DPWH said the Metro Manila Skyway Stage 3 is an 18.68-kilometer elevated expressway stretched over Metro Manila from Buendia in Makati City to Balintawak, Quezon City.
The project, which would connect North Luzon and South Luzon Expressways, is seen to reduce travel time from Buendia to Balintawak from two hours to under 20 minutes.
