Car of VACC head’s wife shot

Romina Cabrera - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — The wife of Volunteers against Crime and Corruption president Arsenio Evangelista found their car shot up in Quezon City on Friday afternoon.

Evelyn Evangelista, 67, had just finished buying vegetables at the Kamuning Market when she found bullet holes on the window and passenger door of their Toyota Vios at around 1:30 p.m.

A witness said that he heard gunshots and saw a blue two-door Toyota sedan speed away from the parking area.

Surveilance footage showed an unidentified man shooting at the car as he had been inconvenienced by the way the Vios was parked, probers said.

A deformed bullet found at the crime scene would be subjected to ballistics examination, they added.
